Course Description

Apply the core concepts of sustainability to an applied project. Participants develop project concepts in real world applications and participate in a community forum on sustainability topics. Developed by sustainability consultant and instructor, Jennifer Chirico, this course provides an immersive experience in applying sustainability principles in the context of organizations in Hawaii.

Pre-req: SUS6101 - Introduction to Sustainability. Earn a Certificate of Professional Development upon successful completion of the project.

Designed for managers, engineers, and aspiring leaders, teams are also encouraged to participate in this course to learn how to apply sustainability principals in their organization to effect change.

This course is approved for the ETF tuition assistance program.

To apply for the 50% Employment Training Fund discount:

1. Complete the application form:

2. Fax the completed form(s) to Workforce Development Maui Office at 808-984-2090 OR scan and email it to:

3. The Workforce Development office will review the application form(s), and they will then send their approval to UHMC. You must apply at least 10 days in advance of the course.

You may contact Stephanie Rickard at 808-984-2091 with any questions on the status of an ETF application.

4. Once approved, UHMC will contact the applicant/company for the 50% balance due in advance of the course. After payment is received, the applicant is registered in the course. The employment training fund pays the 50% remaining balance after successful completion of the course. If the applicant does not attend or successfully complete the course, the employer will be invoiced for the 50% balance.
