Course Description

Having paid work experience while in high school is one of the strongest predictors of being employed as an adult.  While developing work skills, youth learn about time management, following directions, and work ethics.  Work experiences in the community significantly increase opportunities for youth to develop social skills and softs skills.  Family is the foundation of support for youth to perform succ3essfully on the job.

Learner Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course the participant will be able to:

  • Identify that your child with or without a disability can work.
  • Learn solutions to common barriers to have a job.
  • Describe your child's strengths and abilities in a positive way.
  • Identify steps you can take to support your child for life after high school.
