Course Description

Chef Grant has an amazing amount of culinary knowledge in his head. And lately, he’s been putting it to use teaching KCC’s Garde Manger students how to make delicious, homemade sauces, spreads, preserves. He’s made a list of his favorites to teach you. For this class, you’ll be making fresh tomato ketchup, Maui onion jam, lilikoi butter, and a little something to put them on: super tasty mini bork (yes, bork) sliders. Whether you make them to fill your fridge or give to your friends, you’ll love these recipes!

Learner Outcomes

Students will learn to interpret recipes and use standard kitchen tools and cooking techniques to produce home style healthy dishes.

Notes

Chef Grant continues with his popular cooking fundamentals series. Every class begins with a lecture, followed by a cooking demonstration and then hands-on cooking! Chef Sato enjoys preparing simple, flavorful food utilizing locally grown products with an emphasis on Asian/Pacific flavor, local tastes and classic techniques.
