Course Description

Containers provide functional consistency to applications that assure that containerized applications can be developed, tested, and deployed on very different infrastructures, and still reliably work. Linux containers have become a necessary technology in for application developers working with microservice-based applications and infrastructure operations that increasingly treat infrastructure as code.

Docker started this current container renaissance by providing a simple way to build, manage and deploy containers and it remains the leading modern container solution. This course will provide you with a functional knowledge of how to containerize an application using Docker and use your Docker image to run and scale a microservice-based application.

The course will cover how Linux containers differ from bare metal and virtual servers, appropriate use cases for containers, and an orientation to the Docker ecosystem. Most importantly, you’ll get tactical experience with the simplicity and speed that Docker brings to application deployment as you containerize, deploy and scale a microservice-based application in the hands-on labs.

You will gain a practical, experience-based understanding of Docker in particular and containers in general. At the end of the course, you will be comfortable containerizing and running a Dockerized microservice application.

This course is appropriate for Application Developers, Infrastructure Operators, Project Managers, Pre-Sales / Sale Engineers, and Development Managers.
