Learn Spanish through Storytelling!
Did you take Spanish in school, but all you can say is HOLA? Is all that grammar and conjugation confusing? Well, there’s better and more efficient way to learn Spanish through reading and storytelling! In this course, the instructor will guide the class to create characters and stories 100% in Spanish resulting in language acquisition. By the end of the course, participants will understand basic Spanish, and will be able to respond to simple questions. QUERER ES PODER--WHERE THERE’S A WILL THERE’S A WAY!

Learning Objectives:By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

Understand and use basic greeting and leave-taking structures such as: hello, good evening, good-bye, see you later, etc.

Understand and use some basic Spanish such the super seven verbs: there is/are, to be (location) to be (existence), to have, to want, to go, to be pleasing to

Retell (in Spanish) stories created in class

Bio: Jeenna Canche has a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education and has been teaching Spanish at Hawaii public schools on Maui since 2006. She is experienced with teaching language using Comprehensible Input (CI) and has been sharing CI techniques with language teachers across the state since 2016. Her passion is in making language learning fun and easy, with a focus on acquiring language instead of just learning about language through traditional grammar-focused teaching.
