Continuing on from the Youth Aquapono I, participants will completed a 45-hour internship with work-based training in the UHMC aquaponics greenhouse and Maui Food Innovation Center. The internships will provide hands-on, immersive experiences in producing and harvesting fresh produce in the commercial greenhouse, and developing recipes and producing value-added food products in the commercial kitchen. Participants will complete an online eFoodHandler Basic Food Safety Course and the Applied Studies in Food Manufacturing course offered through the Maui Food Innovation Center at UHMC to learn Good Manufacturing Practices (GAP) in a certified kitchen lab. $500 tuition sponsored by Kamehameha School.
