Course Description
The ServSafe Manager Online Course is ideal for individuals who wish to prepare to take the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification Exam. This on-line course has been developed by the National Restaurant Association and validated by many Industry experts across the country.
This interactive self-paced course takes anywhere from 8 to 16 hours to complete. It has been designed using the latest techniques in learning theory, to deliver current food safety information, in a fun and easy-to-use format. The course covers critical principles including: personal hygiene, cross contamination, time and temperature, cleaning and sanitizing, and more. A practice exam is included at the end of the course to help prepare for the proctored ServSafe Manager Certification on-line exam.
Hawaii law requires restaurants and food establishments to employ at least 1 certified individual during operating hours. This course and National Certification will help individuals find employment, allow restaurants to remain compliant with the law, and assure safe practices in our State.
Learner Outcomes
At the end of the course the student will be able to:
- Evaluate the impact of the basic principles of sanitation and safety in a food service operation to practice safe food handling and protect the health of the consumer.
- Evaluate kitchen safety practices in the food service industry for the food service handler.
- Demonstrate professional food protection methodology as required by the culinary industry.
