Make your language skills valuable in the market place. This introduction to the profession of language interpretation will provide an opportunity to improve your interpretation skills, gain confidence and understand the do's and don'ts of interpreting in most settings. Emphasis will be place on medical and health-related settings with the objective of qualifying for work in these areas. Topics covered include Language Access laws and rights, Interpreter Ethics and Standards of Practice Vocabulary Development, Professional Development, and Modes and Roles of Interpreting. Practice sessions are included so you are encouraged to enroll with another person who speaks your language. A certificate of completion will be provided.
