Course Description

The target candidate for this 40 hour course is the person responsible for the maintenance of existing PV systems. Topics will include: the diagnosis & detection of malfunctioning & faulty components using test equipment & software; visual inspections of pv components for defects, such as frayed wiring, loose connections, malfunctioning inverters, cracked panels, etc.; the study of blueprints, schematics, manuals, or other specifications to determine proper repair or replacement procedures; identifying defective equipment and components; calibrating & adjusting installed or replaced equipment to their prescribed specifications; the performance of scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, such as checking, adjusting, cleaning, or repairing equipment to detect & prevent future problems.
