Course Description

Just in Time (JiT) is a 80-hour, MATH Brush-Up designed for students who must acquire the fundamental operational skills needed to advance to community college mathematics courses. The course will review the basic arthmetic skills operations with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percents. Other topics include: ratio and proportion, measurements, and signed numbers. Study skills, time management, note taking, test preparation, and anxiety-reduction are emphazied. Supervised collaborative work groups, progress monitoring, counseling and computer-assisted instruction will be major components of the class. Instructors will administer a mid-term and a final exam. Please note: A calculator is prohibited throughout the course as students are required to master their arithmetic skills. To be eligible you must be 18 years or older, and a US citizen. To qualify for JiT, through COMPASS must score into ENG 22 or higher and MATH at the Pre-College Math level.
