Course Description

This course addresses more complex clinical functions used in the medical office setting. Techniques in preparing and administering medication via basic intravenous, oral, parenteral, topical, and rectal. Demonstration and practice of performing an accurate EKG. 

Learner Outcomes

Student Learning Objectives (SLOs):
A. Administer medication orally.
B. Demonstrate correct techniques in administering parenteral routes through intramuscular and subcutaneous injections.
C. Demonstrate correct skin testing procedure utilizing the intradermal technique.
D. Documentation of accurate administration of medication.
E. Prepare and perform ECG.
F. Identify artifacts and correct them.
G. Identify serious abnormal ECG readings and enact proper emergency procedures.
