Course Description

This course addresses the nonverbal message. Most, if not at all, of the meaning we  get from a message is determined by body language, vocal characteristics and virtually everything that surrounds the words we use. Taking a sensory approach to understanding nonverbal communication, topics will include visual, vocal, spatial and temporal cues and how we interpret (and are interpreted by them).

Learner Outcomes

1. Participants will be able to identify the various forms of nonverbal messages and how they impact communication.
2. Participants will be able to utilize strategies to reduce and overcome misunderstanding created by nonverbal communication.
