LANG6654 - Intermediate Japanese

Course Description

This class is for students who have at least a little background in Japanese, through a previous class or study in the past. The course will focus on low intermediate grammar and structures such as verb conjugations, talking about the past, means of transportation and others. Students will also learn a lot about Japanese culture and customs and how they relate to the language.

Instructor: Ray Parnell earned degrees in Computer Science and English Literature at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte where he also studied Japanese language to prepare for living in Asia. After living in Japan for several years, Ray began to teach high school Japanese and middle school English at Maui Prep Academy. Maui Prep's Japanese language team is now among the very best in Hawaii at the Japan Wizards Competition held every year on Oahu.
