Course Description

Tai Chi for Arthritis for Fall Prevention (TCAFP) is an evidence-based program that is supported by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) targeting seniors to improve balance.  In addition, the TCAFP promotes relaxation, flexibility, and strength.  The Hawai`i Department of Health (DOH) promotes TCAFP island wide as part of their fall prevention program.  This beginning Tai Chi class will prepare students with no background in Tai Chi to practice and become familiar with the warmup, first six movements, and the cool-down segment of TCAFP.

Learner Outcomes

SLOs: 

1.  Students will be able to demonstrate the first six movements, sequentially.

2.  Students will be able to demonstrate the warmup and cool-down components.
