Course Description

As we slowly move away from gas-powered automobiles, understanding the batteries and it's charging system is on the top of your "need to know" list.

When most people think of car batteries, the standard lead acid battery comes to mind, but the high voltage battery of the Hybrid/EV vehicles uses many different types of batteries. Ranging from hundreds of “electric drill” batteries or “cellular phone” batteries, voltages of over 600 volts is a shocking reality! Understanding how to properly work with this high voltage is essential for the technician to keep the vehicle running properly.  This course will take you into the realm of
Batteries, Battery Management System, and Charging Station for Hybrid/EV.
Topics include the theory of batteries, shock safety, battery maintenance, battery diagnosis, types of battery management system/charging station. You will be able troubleshoot and test a battery and it's system properly using the correct equipment and diagnostic tools.
