Course Description

University of Hawai`i Kapi`olani Community College will provide an Intensive English and Hawaiian Studies Program for the participants of Yubari High School.  This short-term customized program prepared and coordinated by Paul S. Honda International Center will focus on the English language and various cultural aspects in Hawai`i, traditional and and modern.  Students are encouraged to speak English at most, deepen cross-cultural understanding and broaden their horizons.  

 

Student Learning Outcomes:

1).  Describe the basic principles and concepts of Hawaiian culture.

2).  Demonstrate an example of Hawaiian culture, and,

3).  Apply the knowledge of English language concepts and skills in actual classroom and interview setting.
