Course Description

In this hands-on class you will learn about and demonstrate business type applications and requirements in MS Word and Excel in order to assist in your daily responsibilities at your workplace.   

To introduce basic computer skills and applications in MS Word and Excel for the workplace.

Learner Outcomes

Student Learning Outcomes:

MS Word:

From the HOME Tab achieve and demonstrate practical knowledge and use for: font, paragraph, find, and editing.

From the INSERT Tab achieve and demonstrate practical knowledge and use for: tables, and illustrations (pictures, shapes).

From the LAYOUT Tab achieve and demonstrate practical knowledge and use for: margins, orientation, size, breaks, indent, spacing, and align.

From the REVIEW Tab achieve and demonstrate practical knowledge and use for: Spelling and grammar, and thesaurus.

From the MAILINGS Tab achieve and demonstrate practical knowledge and use for: envelopes, labels, mail merge – Introduction to Excel, and customize the ribbon.

EXCEL:

From the HOME Tab achieve and demonstrate practical knowledge and use for: clipboard, font, alignment, number, insert, cells, and editing (autosum, fill, find and select).

From the PAGE LAYOUT Tab achieve and demonstrate practical knowledge and use for: margins, orientation, size, print area, breaks gridlines, and headings.

From the DATA Tab achieve and demonstrate practical knowledge and use for: sort, and text to columns.

From the REVIEW Tab achieve and demonstrate practical knowledge and use for: spell check, and thesaurus.

From the VIEW Tab achieve and demonstrate practical knowledge and use for: workbook views, freeze panes, and customize the ribbon.
