Recommendations

This 108-hour comprehensive program begins with a process of self-discovery using the True Colors assessment. The premise is that life and work are inseparable so the purpose of this program is to have a clear understanding of yourself - strengths, weaknesses, personal vision, mission and values, etc. - and learn to design a life that achieves individual goals. Learning about personal strengths and weaknesses will help participants to discover and make appropriate life choices, including careers, as they search for jobs that are suitable according to their personal vision, mission and values. Not only will participants learn life skills (i.e., budgeting, stress and time management and organization), but they will also develop and/or enhance basic workplace skills (i.e., communication, business writing, critical thinking, computer, customer service, sales and presentation skills.

Assessment via capstone project:

Participants will design a PowerPoint presentation and verbally deliver a presentation (audience TBA) that highlights major takeaways from the program:

  • Personal vision, mission and values
  • SMART goals
  • Life and career choices
  • E-portfolio (resume, cover letter, etc.)
