Course Description

Individuals who are seeking to learn the Korean Language.  This course offers a fun and unique way to learn about the Korean culture and the language.

Course Description:

This course incorporates the use of traditional and contemporary K-song lyrics as a method to learn basic Korean language and grammar.  This course is appropriate for all ages.  The recommended prerequisite is K102-Elementary Korean II or the equivalent.

The instructor will assess participants by:

  • Observing participants as they practice Korean traditional and contemporary songs.
  • Evaluating participants as they present the cultural background for song choices.

By the end of the program, participants will: (Student Learning Outcomes)

  • Practice speaking Korean through the learning of song lyrics.
  • Sing Korean traditional and contemporary songs.
  • Present the cultural background of their song choices.

 

Course Outline

The following is the outline for this 16-hour course:

  • Introduction to Korean culture & music
  • Traditional Korean song lyrics
  • Contemporary K-song lyrics

Learner Outcomes
