Course Description

Who:

Course is intended for baseball players, ages 9 to 90, looking to improve their skills, strength and confidence for the upcoming season or the next game. Maximum of 20 students per section.

What:

Running Form & Basic Biomechanics - speed, agility, conditioning

Rotator Cuff & Shoulder Capsule Anatomy & Physiology - Strength & Conditioning exercises & program

Throwing Mechanics - Efficient & Effective approach, drills to improve skills, accuracy and velocity using technology

Swing Mechanics - developing consistency and power using technology

 

About:

Instructor Barry Takahashi earned his Masters of Education with an emphasis in kinesiology from Texas Christian University.  He has coached baseball for 20 years at the professional, Junior Olympic, collegiate and high school levels in Texas, Florida, Hawaii and Europe.  He is a graduate of the Major League Scouting Bureau's Scout Development Program, has worked as an injury rehab coach for the Kansas City Royals and is an associate scout for the Houston Astros. Takahashi is the president of a local non-profit promoting amateur sports and the manager of its college-prep travel baseball program, that visits college campuses and showcases Maui student-athletes to college recruiters.
