Cybersecurity analysts are in high demand. Currently there are an estimated 3.5 million jobs going unfilled in the world, and the demand is only growing. This webinar will present an inside view of what it's like to work in cybersecurity, how to train to be a cybersecurity analyst, and career opportunities.

Learner Outcomes

By the end of the webinar, participants will:

1). Understand more about a career in cybersecurity which can be an interesting , professional, and a well rewarded career.

2). Determine if you have the attributes for success in a career in cybersecurity: enjoy problem solving, be considered a good communicator and team player, thrive in a changing environment, and have a pursuit for lifelong learning.

3). Learn about a Cybersecurity analyst training is now offered at Kapi'olani Community College.

4). Learn that Hawai'i currently has more than 2,000 jobs available in cybersecurity.

Speaker Bio:

Armand Hernandez is an experienced information security professional that for more than 20 years has established and managed information security management programs in international organizations in Asia, the US and Canada. He has a comprehensive understanding of organization-specific compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards such as ISO 27001, SOC2, NERC, NIST-800 series, PCI-DSS, CIS-CSC, HITRUST, HIPAA, and other information privacy and security requirements. Armand has also conducted numerous information security audits and consultations for public, private and not-for-profit sector clients in major industry sectors such as healthcare, utilities, financial, gaming/casino, telecommunications, construction, etc.

His wide-ranging and in-depth information security experience includes information security program development and implementation; security policy and standard development, enterprise risk management, security threat and risk assessment, cyber maturity assessment, security operations, forensics, and industry security standards and compliance security reviews.

Armand is a Director of ISACA Vancouver Chapter and has contributed to the development of cybersecurity programming, credentialing and training. He is currently the security subject matter expert in a large transportation organization in Canada.
