Course Description

This online English and Culture program is designed to develop English speaking proficiency of the students. While learning basic speaking skills including pronunciation, intonation, tone, speed, facial expression, students will expand culture awareness as well through knowing Hawai`i.  The students will gain confidence in speaking in public to prepare them for starting the teacher's training at elementary schools in Japan to become teachers with international perspectives. 

By the end of program, the students will be able to:

1).  Define what makes speech effective and agreeable for the audience

2).  Describe Hawaiian culture

3).  Demonstrate a presentation about one cultural topic which the student selected based on their interest
