Course Description

Students will participate in an Introductory Environmental Studies course with hands-on activities related to the health of the Kapalama ahupuaa. The course will include four weeks of on-site instruction at the Marine Education and Training Center (METC).  

Students will survey the ocean front of METC, collect data on water quality, participate in bioremediation labs, and weather permitting, potentially apply what they have learned to the wa`a during a day sail.  There will be an emphasis on bioremediation, including the use of oysters as bioremediators.
