HLTH3053 - Caregiving
Course Description
Caregiving course prepares family & friends to provide basic care to those requiring assistance to live in the home. Caregiving skills to be taught include vital signs, assisting with hygiene, preparing healthy meals, assisting ambulation with assistive devices, assisting with range-of-motion exercises; and understanding common disorders such as dementia, diabetes, and asthma.Learner Outcomes
- Identify the role of the caregiver
- Demonstrate how to assist with hygiene and ambulation with assistive devices
- Practice preparing healthy foods
- Practice taking vital signs
- Identify findings of common conditions such as dementia, diabetes, and asthma
