HLTH3066 - Hawaii EMS Internship
Course Description
From time to time, EMTs and paramedics from the continental United States and/or other countries seek an internship that would expose them to EMS education and practice in Hawaii. Sometimes these are collegiate EMS interns (e.g. in baccalaureate programs); at other times they are paramedics practicing internationally. Bringing their own backgrounds in EMS, such interns seek to gain an understanding of how emergency services are deployed across the State of Hawaii, and/or within particular counties. Likewise, interactions with and continuing education presentations by such interns will enrich the education and practice of Hawaii’s emergency services providers.Learner Outcomes
As noted above, as well as in the KapCC EMT program, the KapCC MICT program, and as reaffirmed in the 'Purposeful Work' program description at Bates College, one of the partner institutions for this internship.Notes
