Managefirst: Hospitality Management and Workplace Essentials

1) The ManageFirst Program, created by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) and managed nationally by National Restaurant Association Solutions, is a management development program that equips students with the key competencies they need to begin or advance their management careers in our demanding industry. The Hospitality Management course focuses on the skills necessary to gain employment as an entry level manager in the hospitality industry. Topics such as leadership, communications, team building, scheduling, budgeting and other essential workplace skills will be taught. This course will culminate with a nationally recognized certification exam, that upon completion will provide the student with an NRA Certificate in Hospitality Management.

2) Workplace Essentials series consists of seven self-paced modules in professional skills, such as collaboration, accountability, and anger management, that leads to a Workplace Ready certificate upon successful completion.

1. Earn a nationally recognized certification in Hospitality and Restaurant Management by the NRA
2. Explain the difference between management and leadership and identify key strategies for success in each
