ManageFirst - Bar and Beverage Management and Workplace Essentials 

The ManageFirst® program participants receive industry-respected training that prepares them to confidently lead our ever-growing industry. This management program teaches practical competencies needed to face real-world challenges in the industry, including interpersonal communication, ethics, accounting skills and more. Upon attending this course and successful completion of the examination, you will receive a certified ManageFirst® Bar and Beverage Management certificate.

Workplace Essentials series consists of seven self-paced modules in professional skills, such as collaboration, accountability, and anger management, that leads to a Workplace Ready certificate upon successful completion.  

Recommendations

Upon successful completion of this course students will: 

1. Explain laws and procedures related to responsible alcoholic service.
2. Perform mathematical functions related to beverage operations.
3. Demonstrate the overall concept of purchasing for a beverage program to make it profitable.
4. Apply knowledge of quality standards and regulations governing alcohol service in Hawai’i.
5. Describe and practice proper storage of beverages.
6. Perform basic math functions.
7. Discuss the flow of beverages in a food service operation, including purchasing, receiving, storing and issuing.
8. Analyze the impact of market fluctuations on product cost.
