Course Description

The foundation for becoming a better cook lies in knife cuts.  Chef Grant will teach you the very basics for knife selection, to basic prep, to slices and dices, and basic knife maintenance.  This class will take your cooking to the next level!

 

Learner Outcomes

By the end of this course,

  • Students will gain the knowledge and be comfortable with knife selection, basic prep and different knife cuts.
  • With cooking and preparation tips, student will be able to produce dishes in a more efficient manner.
  • Students will become comfortable with their knowledge of different knives used for culinary skills.

Students Under the Age of 18:

Classroom Safety:

As a safety precaution, participants in all culinary classes are required to wear covered, non-slip shoes (e.g., athletic shoes) and comfortable long pants. Aprons or any other personal items may also be brought to class. The college will not be held responsible if such items are lost or stolen.
