Course Description

Did you know Chef Grant won many gold and silver medals in ACF competitions in fruit and vegetable carving as a student and professional? He will teach you some simple an fast to complex Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, and Chinese styles of fruit and vegetable carvings that can be used as centerpiece displays or garnishes. The cost of the class includes instruction, materials, ingredients, and a carving knife.

Learner Outcomes

By the end of this course, students will be able to do simple and visually appealing fruit and vegetable carvings that can be used as centerpiece of decorative displays.

Students will learn proper carving techniques for fruit and vegetables.
Students will be able to create garnishes that will add a decorative appeal for food presentation.

Notes

Classroom Safety:

As a safety precaution, participants in all culinary classes are required to wear covered, non-slip shoes (e.g., athletic shoes) and comfortable long pants. Aprons or any other personal items may also be brought to class. The college will not be held responsible if such items are lost or stolen.
