Course Description

Problems and challenges abound in some of your favorite kid lit stories! Dive into some engaging stories and then stretch your thinking by applying the design thinking process to solve a problem/challenge related to the text. Would a parachute help a spider to fly? Find out in the Diary of a Spider. What if the chameleon with A Color of His Own could not only change colors but also shapes? What?! Work with cooperative groups or dig in on your own to develop creative solutions to challenges like these and more!

Materials fee: $15
Materials requested for students to bring: A composition tablet, a pencil, an eraser, a bottle of Elmer's glue, and a pair of scissors.
If available, please bring recyclables such as popsicle sticks, various types of paper, paper/plastic cups, and other recyclable materials to build projects.
